Governor Ritter signing SB09-162, Broadband Inventory
Governor Ritter signing SB09-162, Broadband Inventory to Accept Public Funds, on June 4th in the Governor's office before the bill's principle sponsors Senator Gail Schwartz (D), Senate District 5, and Representative Larry Liston (R), House District 16.
Living in Colorado Springs, we enjoy internet access via cable, DSL, and other broadband infrastructure that simply is not available in many parts of our state. SB09-162 opens additional funding sources to the Office of Information Technology, that will enable better planning for network deployment into communities now lacking broadband infrastructure. This legislation will have real, positive economic impact on rural Colorado.
